Today (06/27/2008) is Bill Gates last day as Microsoft Chairman. As a good will gesture let us all send him a greeting card wishing him good luck. He has been a champion for our cause and we owe him one.
A hand written personal greeting card will be a good idea (no e-cards please)
A short note regarding our issues will not be a bad idea, also do not forget to put ImmigrationVoice.org in your signature! Thousands of cards with IV signature will also help IVs exposure :)

Hello,
We have our 485 interview's next week @ the Baltimore Field Office. My PD is current for EB-2. My case is pretty straightforward so hopefully should not be a issue.
Would appreciate any comments from folks in MD who have been interviewed @ the Fallon Federal Building in downtown.
Particularly - can they approve our cases right there & then.? Will they stamp our passports for approval since PD is current for January 2011.? Can there be any issued with visa number not available, etc. ?
Any advice is appreciated.

I am having a problem and dont know where to start on this one, my experience in c# programming is average and was hoping for some advice on this subject. I have a disc image (an exact duplicate of a 40gb hard disc drive) the format is a dd image.
My task requires me to programmatically read through the files on this image, compare file extensions and recognise certain file types on the drive. Is this possible? I cannot find anyone who has attempted this on the internet and would appreciate any guidance to get the ball rolling.

My brother is US Citizen and my parents visited US, my brother want to apply green card for my parents. What all the documents from India are needed from my parents to apply for GC?
1.What forms/applications do we have to apply?
2.What is the first step should we have to take?
3.Do we need to apply form I130 and along with that can we apply I485?
4.What all documents should my brother submit along with the forms/applications?
Please Seniors/Lawyers help me.

I am in a unique situation. I have filed for my H1B through company A and pretty recently got a 3 year extension too. I also have an approved Labor and I-140 through them. This May the company had an asset only aquisition and is now operating under a new name and Employee ID. Since we are all open to file our I-485 I contacted my immigration lawyer and explained the company reorganization. At first the lawyer was claiming that we should file an Amended I-140 due to the reorg. My company lawyer informed my Immigration Lawyer that the new company has not taken over the liabilities of the old company, it only took over the assets. Now my immigration lawyer claims that I will have to transfer my H1B to the new company and move forward with my original I-485 application and then port after 180 days. I wanted to get a second opinion from someone on this board.

My fiance has a (U.S) MS degree in Chemistry but has been working on H1b as a computer programmer for the last 2 years ? All her undergraduate work has also been in the Sciences. Her GC sponsor is a software company and she will be applying as a computer programmer. Does anyone have experience with this kind of Labor Certification situation ? Thank you for any help.

I am starting this thread for the people who are Greencard Holders and not married. Please share some thoughts for bringing their spouse here.
IV can help in this matter.
If all visa holders and citizens can bring their spouse instantly then why GC holder have to wait for many years after getting GC after many years.

I filed for EAD (new application) 30 days back along with my AOS applications. Finished my FP on the 25th day.
Normally How long it take to get EAD from Texas Service center. ??

It seems that the TSC is processing the applications in the alphabetical order of the state. The info is based on some chinese forum. I am not sure how true the info is.
Are there any one from New York/New Jersey who have already got the receipt numbers? I have filed from NY and no info yet on our I-485. BTW, I am a july 2nd filer.

Perm applied in May 2007 . Got audit in June . Responded within a week. No response since then. Company lawyer approached DOL 3 times checking for the labor status. No response.
Is it possible to resubmit the perm application retaining old date. Any suggestion if that might help.

As well we can tell them that probably we may not arrived yet to launch a life changing product,the moment we arrive there, WE promise that we may never talk about immigration specially EB-reforms.
Yes, with out a backup up of big institutions(this case MIT) this dream or idea would have just lived like any wish or it would have taken 3 or 4 times longer.

After Card production ordered status in two days it changed to Approval Notice sent and still no sign of the card.
